Three hours live report on Television: Jan Ullrich will start again in Ravensburg
A wonderful late summer day, 35.000 spectators in the beautiful historic town centre of Ravensburg getting goose pimples and Jan Ullrich in top form. The prevailing conditions for the second cycling race “EUROBIKE Altstadtkriterium Ravensburg 2005” have been absolutely perfect. And this year as well an outstanding cycling event will take place.
On September 1st, the third “EUROBIKE Altstadtkriterium Ravensburg” will take place, parallel to the bicycle fair “EUROBIKE” in Friedrichshafen. Once again numerous cycling pros and first-class teams will race along the alleys of the historic town centre of Ravensburg. The sportsmen will have to cycle the 800 m circuit all in all 80 times. The organizing committee, which consists of Title sponsor “Messe Friedrichshafen” (Fair Friedrichshafen), the organizing city Ravensburg and the Promoter E. Tremmel Marketing GmbH, are very proud to commit once more Jan Ullrich of Team T-Mobile to start in the race. It will be the third participation of Jan Ullrich at the “EUROBIKE Altstadtkriterium Ravensburg”.
After an exciting race in the first year where he had to let Jens Voigt from Berlin go ahead, he was the winner in 2005. In this year he will try to hold the title and will present himself in his best condition to the spectators. This exciting spectacle will be broadcasted live on Television, channel EURO 3. Jan Ullrich will not only come to Ravensburg for the race. His fans are already looking forward to his autograph session. Perhaps they then will receive the signature of the double winner of the “Tour de France”.
For the third time as well the junior race “TWS-Junioren-Cup” will take place. The juniors will start at 5.30 p.m. for 40 laps through the city.
Prior to the pros’ start at 8 p.m., a VIP race will be started for the first time. Names as Eddy Merckx or Miguel Indurain are to be discussed.
“There are quite a lot of VIP – oldies from the cycling scene visiting the EUROBIKE fair. We are quite sure to commit some of them for our VIP-race” says Edgar Tremmel.
After the winner’s ceremony of the pros, the already traditional EUROBIKE fashion show with the collection for 2007 will be presented. After the fashion show a big open-air party on “Marienplatz” with the cover band “SWR1 All Stars” will keep the audience moving. In the various pubs and restaurants in the historic town centre of Ravensburg the motto parties invite everybody to calm down, relax and have fun. The famous end for those who never sleep will start at 1 a.m. in the motto restaurant “Kantine” with top DJ Steffen Tröger who presents the “SWR1 – Akzent After-Race-Party”. Here the tireless ones can dance together with the cycling stars until the early morning.
Not only cycling fans should note 1st September. The circuit, pleasantly situated for the spectators, the famous atmosphere with an unique frame-program in the historic town centre of Ravensburg and the top athletes, in front of all Jan Ullrich, promise an outstanding cycling event also in this year.
